On this bike tour, we explore the countryside and the culture of Hanoi. Our cycling adventure starts at the hotel. We ride through the busy old street to Long Bien Bridge, exploring villages by Red river and getting a feel for local life away from the sights and sounds of the city. Then on to the West Lake to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Vietnam and Quan Thanh Temple, one of the Four Sacred Temples of ancient Hanoi.
Meet our guide at your hotel. We bike along the busy streets of Hanoi old quarter.
First visit is on Long Bien Bridge, a symbol of the tenacity and resilience of the Hanoian people. The Long Bien Bridge (built between 1899 and 1902) was bombed on several occasions during the American War, and each time quickly repaired by the Vietnamese.
Then we will ride through banana plantations near the Red River.
We take a tour around vegetable fields growing a variety of produce including: bitter melon, corn, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, green peas, snake peas and corn, as well as fruit gardens with oranges, pommels, papaya and more (depend on the season to grow different crops). You may have chance to help a farmer working on his field and talk with them.
Have lunch with local fresh local food. We ride back to Hanoi. Ride to the West Lake, is the biggest freshwater lake of northwest center of Hanoi. Visit Tran Quoc pagoda and Quan Thanh temple and then enjoy a famous Hanoi ice-cream “Kem Ho Tay”.
Bike back to your hotel. Tour ends.
