Located about 300km from Hanoi, Mu Cang Chai, which is one of the most breathtaking landscapes of rice terraces in Vietnam, is still a new destination for foreigner travelers. Mu Cang Chai has a special topography with steep hills overlooking deep valleys where the local ethnic minority groups including Hmong, Thai, Dao create the masterpiece of terraced rice fields. Without an appointment, a number of people travel here to participate in the skydiving festival at Khau Pha pass, one of the most beautiful passes in Mu Cang Chai, to enjoy the rice terraces stretching from above. Coming to Mu Cang Chai, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the immense beauty of the terraced rice fields, to smell the fragrance of rice while walking along the murmuring streams flowing around, and enjoy the fresh air that is luxurious in the city. Additionally, you are going to meet friendly and hospitable locals, enjoy delicious food, and listen to the stories about the wooden houses with thatched roofs, so called “honeymoon hut”, that are scattered in the fields. The trips would be more memorable with the experience of soaking your body into famous hot mineral springs in Ngoc Chien commune, located about 40km from Mu Cang Chai, after a day of trekking.
